I’ll be installing LED backlights in the keyboard, and they’ll need resistors to regulate their brightness. The only real way to determine the right resistance is to install the LEDs under the keycaps, hook them up to a candidate resistor, and see how you feel about them.
This is initial prep work for that test. I have three breadboards: one with 430-ohm resistors, one with 510-ohm, and one with 620-ohm. Those values will give each LED about 6mA, 5mA, or 4mA, respectively.
Getting all the jumper wires plugged in will be Very Fiddly, but hopefully still less painful than repeatedly soldering and de-soldering. I’ll find out whether the plan is tenable in a few days when the case pieces arrive!
